Event Details

Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas Launches “Bal-Mukund Folk Dances of Bharat”- a dance program created by RKT Bal-Mukund team for children of ages between 5 and 15, to instill and educate the children about Indian Culture and arts.

The dance volunteers with their profound experience provide a clearly defined instruction classes on a regular timeline based schedule to all the enrolled students. The volunteers are trained in a broad range of dance styles and they are adept at teaching and choreographing for children’s skill-level, ages and preferences.

Vision of “Bal-Mukund Indian Folks Dance Class”

  • To teach not only the technique but also the historical and cultural significance behind each type of folk dances
  • To inspire each dancer to find creativity and enhance his/her physical and emotional well-being inside himself/herself
  • To promote strong self-confidence, discipline and appreciation of Indian culture

Indian folk dances are an expression of the soul and feelings in a poetic and artistic way. It is a way of life to bring communities together while celebrating the diversity among themselves. They are performed for every possible occasion, to celebrate the arrival of seasons, birth of a child, a wedding and festivals. The dances burst with grace, technique and vitality.  Each form of dance has a specific costume. Most costumes are flamboyant with extensive jewels.
