Holi Festival of Colors

Even before completing the construction of the new Dallas area Hindu Temple, hundreds of people from all over the DFW area flocked to the new Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas site in Allen, TX making the temple’s first ever Dallas Holi Festival of Colors – Holi Hangama – of last Sunday, March 22, 2015, a grand success.

For weeks preceding the big event rain and clouds dominated the weather, however, the Dallas event  was blessed with a clear blue sky and abundant sunshine despite the weeks of unending rain that went on and left volunteers and organizers in suspense until the last moment.

The celebration began with soul-stirring kirtans by a talented team of singers and musicians, immersing the audience in the spirit of Braj-style HoliSwami Mukundananda conveyed the essence of  Holi celebrations in his keynote address saying, “We must use this opportunity to color our souls with the divine colors of devotion to Radha Krishna.”

Joyfully singing and chanting the divine names of Radha Krishna, feeling devotional sentiments, visitors blissfully danced around the temple site carrying Baby Radha Krishna in parikrama showering them with flower petals and colors.
