Tulsi Vivaha is a significant Hindu festival symbolizing the ceremonial wedding of Tulsi Devi (a holy basil plant) with Lord Vishnu, often represented as the Shaligrama stone or a branch of the Amla tree. The event marks the end of the monsoon season and the start of the wedding season in Hindu tradition.
Tulsi, a pious devotee, was blessed with unmatched beauty and purity. However, her destiny was tied to a challenging path of devotion and love. Known for her unshakeable faith, she devoted her life to worshiping Lord Vishnu, seeking his divine grace.
Her unwavering devotion attracted the attention of Vishnu himself, who took the form of Shaligram—a sacred black stone. Tulsi was destined to become one with Vishnu, but her earthly form and attachments made it a journey filled with emotional trials.
As the story goes, Tulsi's mortal form transformed into the sacred Tulsi plant, while Vishnu remained as the Shaligram stone. Their union symbolizes eternal love, devotion, and divine connection.
