2016 Diwali Celebrations at Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas

Diwali celebrations

It was a perfect setting for a beautiful evening with pleasant fall weather. Celebrating Diwali acquired a completely new dimension in a spiritual, yet relaxing atmosphere. The Radha Krishna Temple community’s wait for the most anticipated event of the year ended on Saturday, 22 October 2016. Volunteers and members of the wonderful community enthusiastically partook in the grand event – Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas Diwali Dinner, 2016 at the South Fork Ranch, Parker, Texas.  The divine couple, Shree Radha Krishna, showered their grace on the guests from their magnificently decorated altar.  The presence of His Holiness Swami Mukundananda ji made the evening complete!

As guests arrived, they were treated to a mouthwatering array of appetizers specially catered for the evening. Youth volunteers of Radha Krishna temple chirpily welcomed over four hundred guests, leading them to their elegantly decorated tables.  “It is really heartening to see so many youngsters actively involved in the temple activities,” remarked Sriram, a resident of Frisco, TX.

HH Swami Mukundanandaji’s address enthralled the audience regardless of their age and cultural background. His crystal-clear message on the significance of Diwali and the importance of temples in bringing the community together, especially in a home away from home, enlightened the audience. The beautiful Bharatanatyam dance performance by the youth of Radha Krishna Temple community, depicting the nine forms of bhakthi towards Shree Ram mesmerized the audience. It was an example of how the temple is building a core value of Sanathana Dharma, which is love for God, among its young devotees.  “It is a blessing that we are having this good fortune of celebrating Diwali with such a purity, perfection, and divinity far away from India, in Dallas,” said Renjini from Allen, TX, while thanking the event organizers.  To make the evening enjoyable for every age group, the organizers had arranged a variety of entertainment programs – fun-filled dandiya, foot tapping Bollywood music, and a very captivating magic show.  The aromatic, flavorful, and grand dinner had all the guests extremely pleased.  Perfect weather facilitated the colorful and glowing outdoor fireworks.

The event was a great success! “I have been to several Diwali events, but nothing comes close to this one!” remarked Raghuram, one of the very impressed devotees from McKinney, TX. It was indeed uplifting and inspiring to see the entire community come together and pledge their support for the construction of the much-awaited Radha Krishna Temple.  The construction of the temple is going on in full swing.
