Five thousand years ago, the Supreme Lord descended in the holy land of Braj in His sweetest forms of Shree Radha and Shree Krishna. While Shree Krishna took avatar as the eighth child of Devaki and Vasudev, on the Ashtami (eighth day) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the month of Bhadrapad, Shree Radha emerged from a lotus flower on the eighth day of Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of the same month. The number eight has a very special significance this time around again for the devotees of Shree Radha Krishna Temple at Allen, TX as we gear up for eight days of blissful celebrations, this summer!
