To commemorate its first anniversary, Radha Krishna Temple hosted a spiritual retreat from July 4-11, 2018, in its own holy edifice located in the heart of the metroplex. The series of perfectly calibrated events mesmerized everyone. It was quite an endearing sight to witness not just the local populace, but people from all over the U.S take part in this week-long program.
The daily schedule was consistent throughout for the convenience of everyone, as they could plan their day accordingly. The mornings commenced with a wholesome breakfast, followed by the soulful kirtans sung by a group of devout ladies, leading up to the lecture session by Swami H.H Mukundanada ji himself in the main prayer hall. This was the highlight of all daily activities, as it would catapult everyone scattered all over the temple to gather at one place to savor the nuggets of spiritual wisdom . The day was also interspersed with various other activities like the cultural programs and the mehfil, which provided a platform to the attendees to showcase their unique talent.
If you are wondering where the kids were and what did they did, the temple took care of that as well, by keeping them occupied with a range of productive activities like yoga, meditation, art, bhajan recital, to name a few. At the end of each day, the events had concluded, but the enthusiasm of the people did not wane. With so much of religious fervor pervading the atmosphere, the sight looked like Divinity himself.
The event was a perfectly concocted potpourri of knowledge, wisdom, entertainment, relaxation, and excitement, and concluded with Steve Terrel, Mayor of Allen city, recognizing the Radha Krishna Temple’s efforts in bringing the community together, which served as the sweetest cherry on the cake!
