New Year brings new beginnings, new beginnings bring new excitement, and new excitement brings renewed energy. That is exactly how we at Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas welcomed the New Year 2016.

The New Year Eve Satsang began in the late afternoon and carried into the wee hours of the New Year morning. The melodious and heart-stirring bhajans/kirtans that our accomplished singers sang mesmerized all the devotees. We could not resist, but sing along and chant the nectarous divine names of Shree Radha Krishna that filled our hearts with new energy.

The highlight of the evening was the beautiful renditions by the Bal-Mukund and the youth group of The Radha Krishna Temple, who with their soul-stirring and exuberant voices brought everyone in the Satsang up on their feet, dancing in ecstasy.  There was an aura of divine energy, which gripped the children, youth, and adult devotees alike.

The whole evening was magically interwoven with kirtans, short video clips of Swami Mukundananda ji discourses, and Kripaluji Maharaj’s video    excerpts as well. Watching these videos, we could feel their presence amidst us, transforming the whole atmosphere permeated with joy, peace, and bhakti. The beautiful, serene, musical, and devotional evening did include mouth-watering dinner, along with appetizers and desserts served at regular intervals.

The wondrous evening culminated with arti at the stroke of the midnight, ringing in the New Year in the best possible way. Towards the end, the children lighted sparklers, rejoicing and welcoming the New Year.  What else can be more purifying, rejuvenating, and refreshing than such a start to any new beginning!
