Healthy Cooking Contest, for families & individuals promoting sustainability, raising awareness about conscious consumption, and inspiring individuals to adopt more environmentally friendly cooking practices in their daily lives. Highlighting healthy and sustainable food choices can help generate awareness about food choices that are better for personal and planetary health.

 

Healthy Cooking Contest Components:

  • Utilize all parts of ingredients, no wastage
  • Create a plant-based dish only
  • Seasonal recipe
  • Ethical eating, responsible sources & ingredients

  • Register for Healthy Cooking Contest by 06/10/23 Saturday EOD (see link below)
  • Cook food aligned to themes
  • All items must be self-explanatory
  • Bring recipe for display & set it up from 9:00 AM on Sunday (June 23rd)
  • Public viewing & judging by experts from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday (June 23rd)
  • Have small sample cups to taste for People's Choice Awards
  • Awards announced at 2:00 PM (same day)

Healthy and sustainable food choices can help create awareness about food choices that are better for personal and planetary health Families and individuals can participate in the contest to showcase environmentally friendly cooking practices, their favorite healthy recipes. Prepare the items ahead of time. No heat cooking at the premises. All the ingredients used for the preparation needs to be listed on a board for the judges to see. Provide samples to judges and visitors at your table.

Plant-based recipes only. Can be for an entree, snack, grab-n-go, baked good, or any common fooditem sold in your cafes and cafeterias for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. For example, a black bean brownie or a chickpea muffin would qualify as a plant-forward baked good. Your entry might be a new take on an old tradition.

How:

  • Register for Healthy Cooking Contest (see link registration form)
  • Cook food aligned to themes
  • All items must be self-explanatory
    • Bring recipe for display & set it up from 9:00 AM on Sunday (June 22nd)
  • Public viewing & judging by experts from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday (June 22nd)
  • Have small sample cups to taste for People's Choice Awards
  • Awards announced at 2:30 PM (same day)

Rules:

  • Affordable and accessible ingredients
  • Sustainable ingredients in recipes
  • Original recipes with at least three ingredients
  • Submit a written recipe
  • Recipe must be re-creatable
  • A panel of judges to decide the winners
